Introductions

I have worked in the North East for 32 years, building a diverse career that spans multiple industries and roles. My passion is helping companies thrive – whether that’s supporting them to access funding and business support, or introducing them to local networks where they can learn from their peers.

I’m a great believer in the power of mentoring and networking; so much so it’s something I do as part of my professional development. The North East has always been great at collaboration and there are lots of groups and networks out there to help growing businesses. I really enjoy making connections and signposting businesses to individuals and organisations that can provide the knowledge and insight they need to take their business to the next level.

As a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, I am dedicated to exploring innovative solutions and driving initiatives that contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. I believe in taking actionable steps - both individually and collectively - to reduce our carbon footprint and support sustainable living and working practices.

Are there any top tips you would offer to North East businesses?

When it comes to business support and accessing finance and funding, gain as much information as possible and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And remember - it’s important to celebrate your successes and learn not to morn your mistakes.
