Introductions

Pre-start, startup and trading businesses contacting the North East Growth Hub can expect a warm welcome from myself and Morgan. Our job is to listen and make sure business owners and entrepreneurs have access to all the information and guidance they need to take their company forward.

Having worked in an SME, I know how difficult and time-consuming it can be to find the right support for your business. At the North East Growth Hub, we’ve brought all the region’s business support and finance and funding programmes under one roof to make it as easy as possible to access the help you need. We offer free and impartial advice, and can signpost businesses to organisations across the region that provide a wide range of support. We can also put you in touch with our team of Business Support Advisers who will work with you one-on-one to address any challenges you might be facing.

Why is the North East Growth Hub such a valuable resource for the region’s business community?

The North East Growth Hub is a centralised point of contact for pre-starts, startups and trading businesses in the North East Combined Authority area. It brings together the full range of business support and finance and funding across all seven local authority areas, as well as region-wide and national programmes and initiatives.

Everyone that works at the North East Growth Hub knows how daunting it can be to seek out support. That’s why we’ve built a website that can signpost to hundreds of business support and finance and funding providers, as well as a range of events across the region. For those that need specialist support, we can also book an appointment for you to speak to an experienced Business Support Adviser. The North East is a great place to start and grow a business, and we want entrepreneurs to know the full scope of what’s available.

How does the North East Growth Hub support rural businesses?

Having lived and worked in rural areas, I know many businesses feel that resources are more scarce and that can often lead to people feeling excluded. The North East Growth Hub recognises the importance of growing rural businesses and making sure they feel connected to the wider regional economy.

In order to improve access and raise awareness of the support on offer, I, along with my colleagues at the North East Growth Hub and North East Combined Authority, will be reaching out to more SMEs in rural areas of the region and having a physical presence at local events and exhibitions. There’s a huge amount of signposting we can do to make sure businesses outside of our cities benefit from tailored support that meets their individual needs. The North East Growth Hub can make a big difference so I’d encourage people to get in touch and find out how we can help.
