NCFE is an educational charity and leader in vocational and technical learning dedicated to powering a smarter education eco-system. The adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies at NCFE has presented a fantastic opportunity for innovation and exploration. During this session, the innovation team at NCFE will provide an overview of their generative AI journey to date, examining the Build, Buy or DIY framework that has emerged from the trials. The experience of building a highly bespoke prototype will be shared, as well as scoping options for purchasing generative AI support and developing an in-house tool to support colleagues in their work. It hasn’t all been plain sailing and the talk will examine the successes and challenges encountered during trials, as well as showcase some of the tools used.
