Search current resourcesWhat is the Black Business Fund?
In recent years, many food and drink businesses have been under pressure, with Black-owned businesses facing particular challenges.
NatWest has highlighted the significant barriers Black-owned businesses encounter when trying to access finance. Be Inclusive Hospitality has found that Black workers are most likely to highlight ethnicity as a factor in hindering their career progression.
The Black Business Fund is back for its fourth year to help. Black-owned restaurants with fewer than five locations can apply to win a grant to help give their business a boost.
Who is the support for?
The Black Business Fund will distribute £250,000 to Black-owned restaurants that need financial support.
Twenty-five restaurants will each receive £10,000, with at least half the grants going to businesses outside London.
To be eligible, your food business must be Black-owned, have been trading for more than 12 months and have fewer than five locations.
Access to mentoring
Ninety-two per cent of small business owners who work with a mentor agree that the process has had a positive impact on their businesses' growth and survival.
As well as the grant, Black Business Fund winners will also be able to join Be Inclusive Hospitality’s Elevate Mentorship scheme, a carefully designed six-month programme that fosters both professional and personal growth.
