Food and Drink North East - Speaking From Experience Programme

Food and Drink North East is partnering with NBSL to deliver a fully-funded individual skills programme for the North East food and drink sector.

Delivered as part of the wider ranging Better Business Skills programme, the Speaking From Experience programme will take 15 learners from across the food and drink sector in the North East region and help them to grow and develop the following skill sets:

Financial management skills:

• Forecasting and modelling
• Product costing
• Driving profitability

Marketing skills:

• Brand development and positioning
• Digital marketing and social media
• Telling your story – preparing to sell into retail

Business resilience and planning skills:

• Building business resilience post-Covid
• Planning with purpose – staying agile
• Identifying, managing and reducing risk in food and drink.

Programme Details

The Speaking From Experience programme will take place throughout January and February 2024, and will kick off with a short introduction session to the programme mid-January 2025 with the FADNE team via Zoom.

Participants will then choose a minimum of three online learning modules to complete using our Uskillet online platform, which can be completed in your own time at home.

The programme will then end with a wrap-up session with the FADNE team on Zoom, with participants able to access a further two hours of 1:1 support to discuss their business needs in more depth.
