The capital grant fund grant can support eligible businesses with clear growth plans to access direct capital investment to expand productive capacity or diversify into new markets or products.
Available to all Micro and Small businesses / enterprises (Turnover less than £10m and less than 50 employees) located within rural Northumberland (as defined by UKSPF Rural England Prosperity Fund Boundary)
Eligible sectors:
- General manufacturing
- Food and drink manufacturing
- Knowledge intensive service businesses.
- Tourism attractions – not tourism accommodation or infrastructure,
- Fisheries – onshore food manufacturing only
- Social enterprises – engaged in commercial, for profit, commercial enterprise.
- Farm diversification into sectors otherwise eligible as listed above – (not primary agricultural production, purchase of agricultural machinery and tourism accommodation on farms
Ineligible sectors:
- Retail
- Investment in buildings or infrastructure for use by third party businesses.
- Primary agricultural production
- Primary fishery production/activity
- Tourism accommodation – this includes Wedding Venues and venue space for non business to business related activity.
- Any business activity where there is high risk of market displacement.
