Printing Company awarded Advanced Award of the Good Work Pledge
YPS (Your Print Specialists) have recently been awarded the Advanced Award of the Good Work Pledge. Read a Q&A session with their Operations Director, Wayne Jobling, who talks about the scheme.
How did you hear about the Good Work Pledge?
In order to facilitate vocational training at our 'Your Print Institute' and safeguard jobs, we were working with 'North of Tyne Combined Authority' to secure an 'Innovation Recovery Grant', during which we were made aware of the 'Good Work Pledge'
How did you find the application process?
The application process was really straight forward and with the support and example case studies available it was relatively painless.
By combining the input of other members of our team we had no problems providing examples of our commitment to each of the required pillars.
What do you hope you’ll get out of having an award of the pledge?
It has always been very important to us all at YPS that we operate with a proactive approach to not only business demands but also to developing and growing our own moral character.
By listening to our employees, customers and suppliers and offering the correct support, learning and balance, we continue to develop a positive ethos.
This Good Work Pledge award allows us to give acknowledgement to everyone involved in our own journey and hopefully inspire others to follow suit.
What’s the impact been on your business?
With the current economic instability it has never been a more meaningful time for businesses to show their commitment to employees, customers, suppliers and communities and we believe that the good work pledge has allowed YPS to showcase this which has had a distinctly positive effect throughout Your Print Specialists.
What’s next for YPS?
With the development of our training facilities (Your Print Institute) We plan to work in partnership with industry experts, to provide an extensive range of courses to run alongside those currently provided by our own experts
For our business customers we offer the required training courses for new or existing employees.
We also hold courses for individuals who are looking to start up their own businesses or develop skills to improve their employment opportunities.
Why do you think it’s important that businesses sign up to the Good Work Pledge?
I am sure there are 1000's of local businesses already showing the same commitment to their staff and community as the YPS team are, and if they all take the time to sign up to the good work pledge we can go on to create a strong community which can only have huge benefits to our local economy.
