Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for adults aged 19 or over. They give people the opportunity to build up valuable sector-specific skills based on local employer demand and are accessible to employers wanting to refer existing employees (a co-fund fee will apply).

Improving the skills of the North East workforce

We're working with employers across the North East to tailor Skills Bootcamps to the region’s skills requirements.

Skills Bootcamps increase training capacity, and help get more people into jobs in in-demand sectors.

Outcomes

Skills Bootcamps offer individuals with opportunities to retrain and gain new skills and gain industry-relevant experience. They also enable employers to fill specific skills shortages and team vacancies – increasing productivity within their organisations.

Cost

Skills Bootcamps are free to individuals, however if you're an employer referring your existing employees you will co-fund the training dependent on the size of your business. (30% for large businesses, 10% for SMEs).

Time commitment

Flexible training programmes of up to 16 weeks with a minimum of 60 guided learning hours.
